Job description:
- Operating/using apparatus such as overhead cranes to transport and align separate assemblies and components
- Examining and checking components, subassemblies and end products
- Mounting of major parts like gears, pumps, motors or hydraulic assemblies
- Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery
- Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors or hydraulic assemblies
- Create and read blueprints, designs and diagrams for construction/assembly
- Position and fit already built metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies and components to create industrial machinery and apparatus, including welding or brazing parts
- Set up machinery and ensure all material are readily available
