Salary: $0.50 commission per mile (minimum wage guaranteed)

Hours: 40–70 hours per week, Overtime required

Employment type: Full-time • Permanent

Duties:

-          Address customers' complaints or concerns

-          Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques

-          Mountain driving expertise

-          Professionalism in customer service

-          Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations

-          Load and unload goods

-          Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

-          Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

-          Perform brake adjustments

-          Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

-          Perform preventive maintenance receive and relay information to central dispatch

-          Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

-          Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience required (Long-haul)
  • Driver’s licence Class 1/1F/A
  • Basic security clearance, criminal record check, medical exam, drug test, and driver’s abstract
  • Willing to travel for extended periods
  • Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports; Bill of lading; Dangerous goods occurrence reports; Driver logbook; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); Maintenance and repair reports; Trans-border documentation; Trip reports
