Job Summary:

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineering Consultant to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across industrial and mechanical projects. The role includes advising on maintenance strategies, reliability improvements, equipment design and inspection, and regulatory compliance. You will also support the development of new software solutions for maintenance, asset management, and emissions tracking.

 

Ideal candidates are experienced, adaptable engineers with strong maintenance and project management skills, capable of delivering high-impact consulting solutions across diverse industries.

 

Job Title: Maintenance Engineering Consultant

Job Description and Duties:

  • Conduct feasibility assessments, technical evaluations, and condition monitoring of industrial equipment and mechanical systems to support maintenance and reliability projects.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Perform root cause analyses of equipment failures and prepare detailed engineering reports with recommendations for repair, redesign, and integration of emerging technologies.
  • Advise clients on equipment selection, material specifications, and vendor compliance to engineering and safety standards.
  • Lead or support multidisciplinary project teams in executing maintenance, reliability, and mechanical engineering projects across diverse industries.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including WHMIS and WorkSafeBC requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to support the design and implementation of software tools for maintenance management, emissions tracking, and equipment performance monitoring.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure engineering deliverables meet technical, safety, and quality standards.

 

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Possession of a P.Eng. or EIT certification, or eligibility to obtain EIT status, will be considered an asset.
  • At least 10 years of related experience in Maintenance of heavy-duty machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

 

Experience in below skills is an asset:

  • Utilize CMMS and digital tools to optimize preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
  • Apply reliability engineering and maintenance strategies across industrial and marine equipment.
  • Support integration of IoT sensors, analytics, and maintenance software for asset performance and emissions management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, risk, and quality standards in all maintenance operations.
  • Communicate technical insights effectively to executives, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational, and client consulting skills with minimal supervision.
  • Efficient time management with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills.

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Long Term

 

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

 

Wages: $44.00 per hour

 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations

 

Location of Work:

  1. 5555 Oben St, Vancouver, BC V5R 4P2 and/or
  2. Remote (Work from Home) and/or
  3. Client Location (As may be required from time to time within Canada or abroad)
