Floor Covering Installer

We are currently searching for a Floor Covering Installer.

 

Work Location:

• Various sites in the GTA

 

Work setting:

• Commercial, Residential, Work in employer's/client's home

Duties:

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered 
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding 
• Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings 
• Prepare and install hardwood floors 
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings 
• Estimate costs and materials
• Prepare floors for installations 
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants 

 

Installation specialization:

• Vinyl or resilient tiles
• Vinyl or resilient sheets
• Hardwood strip flooring
• Hardwood intricate patterns flooring
• Parquet flooring
• Modular carpet tiles

 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate extensive experience in floor installation.

 

You will be required to train apprentices and labours.

 

Credentials:
•        Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Hand-eye co-ordination

 

Own tools/equipment:

• Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Gloves, Mask

 

Requirements:

• Two to three years of work experience in floor installations

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent Position/40 hours per week

Hours of Work:

• The shift is from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Salary:

CAD$ 41.79 per hour as per Local 27

 

Transportation/travel information

• Valid driver's licence
• Own vehicle
• Willing to travel
