Position: Food Service Supervisor

As a Restaurant Food Sevice Supervisor at Smitty’s, you will play a leadership role in ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent guest service, and a productive, motivated team. You’ll oversee front- and back-of-house activities, support staff performance, and contribute to a positive and efficient workplace.
Oversee daily operations of both front-of-house and kitchen staff during assigned shifts
Ensure food is prepared and served according to company standards, portion sizes, and safety regulations
Coordinate shift activities to maintain workflow, service quality, and cleanliness
Supervise and schedule food service workers, including servers, hosts, and kitchen staff
Train new employees on food safety, customer service standards, and operational procedures
Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
Greet customers, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive dining experience
Handle special requests or customer issues professionally and promptly
Support a welcoming, guest-focused environment across all areas of the restaurant
Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies to prevent shortages or waste
Assist in placing orders, receiving shipments, and maintaining stock records
Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items according to food safety standards
Perform opening and closing procedures, including till reconciliation and cash-outs
Ensure accuracy in point-of-sale transactions and financial reporting during shifts
Report discrepancies or issues to management promptly
Act as the lead contact during assigned shifts, ensuring effective communication between front and back-of-house
Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
Ensure all staff follow company policies, health and safety regulations, and cleanliness standards
Previous supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or food service environment
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and restaurant operations
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Availability to work full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Busy, team-driven restaurant setting
Shifts may include early mornings, day, and evening hours
Must maintain high standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and guest service
