Wage/ Salary: $35.00 / hour

Language of work: English

Term of Employment: Full-Time Permanent Position (35- 37 hrs/week)

Work Location: 1600 Government St, Victoria, British Columbia V8W 1Z3

 

Job Duties:

  • Lead the operation of kitchen staff that prepare, portion, and serve the food.
  • Coordinate staff in a productive and efficient manner ensuring standards are maintained in service delivery.
  • Keep a track of stocks like meat, grocery, and other supplies as well as order these when the stock is low.
  • Maintain proper par stocks for supplies.
  • Assist in inventory management.
  • Make a work schedule by observing the busy hours and days in the restaurant to maintain a smooth flow of work.
  • Keep a track of wastage against weekly sales to increase the profit of the business.
  • Make a budget with the help of weekly sales figures
  • Train the new and existing staff about the job duties, safety procedures, and methods in place
  • Ensure that employees follow all company and local rules, policies, and regulations relating to food safety, fire and hazard safety, and security.
  • Ensure that proper hygiene is maintained in the restaurant by conducting staff training whenever required
  • Ensure the quality, temperature, and presentation of the food being served to customers is up to the standards
  • Ensure friendly and prompt service by the servers.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of High School is required.
  • Completion of a college program in hotel and restaurant management would be preferred but not mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the related service would be an asset.
  • Able to work for long hours, on weekends and on holidays.
  • Good at Multitasking
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
