Position Title: Sous-chef

Number of Vacancies: 2

Job duties:

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
• Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time

Experience:5 years or more of Chinese wok cooking

Other requirements:

• Proficient in wok tossing, able to independently handle wok station duties
• Able to maintain consistent food preparation speed and dish quality during peak hours
• Able to strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
• Able to operate commercial kitchen equipment such as wok ranges, deep fryers and steamers

Language of Work: No Requirement/any language 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Wage: $37.50 per hour

Work hours: 33 hours per week
