Position Title: Infant daycare workers supervisor

Primary Work Location: 345 Latoria Blvd 200, Colwood, BC, V9C 4L8, Canada

Start Date: As soon as possible

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $38.50 CAD hourly  

Hours: Monday to Friday, 30-40 hours per week, scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (6–8-hour shifts with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)

About Us

Next Level Childcare Society is a fully licensed childcare facility committed to providing high-quality care and early learning programs for children from birth to five years of age. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced infant daycare worker to join our team and care for children aged 0 to 3 years.

 

Job Responsibilities

•                Assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs.

•                Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

•                Maintain daycare equipment

•                Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers

•                Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents

•                Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest

•                Order supplies and equipment

•                Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

•                Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts

•                Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

•                Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

•                Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors

•                Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings

•                Knowledge of licensing regulations

•                Establish guidelines for behaviour

•                Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

•                Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

•                Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

•                Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

•                Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate / ITE Certificate is required.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate

•                Toddler to pre-school (1 - 3 years)

 

Requirements

ž   A Bachelor’s degree is required

ž   Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

ž   Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate / ITE Certificate is required.

ž   Valid First Aid & CPR certificate

ž   Satisfactory criminal record check is required
