Gentle Hands Care is looking for two (2) full time Psychiatric Aides to join them as soon as possible to work at Client Locations in Camrose and Edmonton, AB,

 Work locations: may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee. Work setting: Various locations.

 Eligibility: 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Not required but Experience an asset

Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Immunization records and Valid driver's licence is required. 

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding and Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Personal suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Efficient,interpersonal skills, Interpersonal awareness, Judgement, Reliability and Patience.

Salary: 23.00 hourly / 40 hours per week

Duties: 

  • Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
  • Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment
  • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
  • Perform other duties related to personal care
  • Supply and empty bed pans
  • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse
  • Serve meal trays and feed patients
  • Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas
  • Bathe, dress and groom patients
  • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations
