Safeway Freight Inc. is hiring 2 full-time, permanent Truck Drivers in Cheltenham, Ontario.
Salary: $38.00 per hour
Hours: 40–44 hours per week
Start date: As soon as possible
Responsibilities:
Drive long-haul routes, including mountain routes, as part of a two-person team or convoy.
Load and unload goods, tarp loads, and ensure cargo safety and security.
Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Inspect tires, lights, brakes, refrigerated storage, and other equipment.
Perform brake adjustments, preventive maintenance, and emergency roadside repairs.
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Arrange travel itineraries and reservations.
Provide professional customer service and coach colleagues on work techniques.
Requirements:
Secondary school graduation certificate.
1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
AZ class licence.
English language proficiency.
Experience with tractor-trailer B trains and long-haul transportation.
Availability for varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Willingness to travel frequently, as work locations vary.
