Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary:$38.40 Hourly, for 40 Hoursperweek Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 111-5355 Boundary Road, Vancouver, BC V5R 6G2, and various roofing project sites throughout the Lower Mainland–Southwest economic region of British Columbia.
Education:No formal education is required
Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent, relevant experience performing roofing installation, repair and replacement in commercial and/or residential construction environments. Candidates must have demonstrated experience working with built-up roofing systems, metal roofing, waterproofing applications and roofing repairs. Experience safely working at heights and using fall-protection systems, scaffolding and roofing equipment is required.

Duties:
- Install, repair and replace built-up roofing systems using appropriate roofing materials and equipment;
- Install, repair and replace various roofing systems, including metal roofing and other roofing applications;
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete, masonry and other surfaces above or below ground level;
- Inspect roofing areas and identify damaged or deteriorated roofing materials requiring repair or replacement;
- Read and interpret roofing plans, specifications and work instructions; measure roof surfaces and calculate quantities of roofing, insulation, flashing, waterproofing and related materials required for assigned installations and repairs.
- Assess existing roof conditions, identify sources of leaks and water infiltration, and determine appropriate repair or replacement methods.
- Install flashing, membranes, insulation, vapour barriers and related roofing components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Cut, fit and install roofing and waterproofing materials according to project specifications;
- Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools;
- Erect, use and dismantle scaffolding and other working platforms to provide safe access to roofing areas;
- Safely operate roofing tools, equipment and materials while working at heights;
- Follow workplace safety procedures, fall-protection requirements and established roofing practices;
- Maintain a safe and organized work area and ensure roofing materials and equipment are properly handled;
- May estimate materials required for roofing projects and assist in determining project costs.
