Job Summary
Hong Fa Restaurant is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the restaurant's daily operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational planning, cost and revenue control, staffing, inventory and supplier coordination, service standards, and overall restaurant performance.
Main Duties
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the restaurant's daily operations.
- Review operating costs, revenues, and budgets to support profitability and efficient restaurant operations.
- Develop and monitor budgets for food, ingredients, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, and other operating expenses.
- Monitor revenues and staffing requirements to effectively manage labour costs.
- Review food preparation practices and menu pricing in consideration of operating costs and budget targets.
- Establish and implement restaurant service standards and operating procedures.
- Recruit employees and arrange staff schedules according to operational requirements.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and address staffing or performance issues as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies are maintained for restaurant operations.
- Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers regarding food, ingredients, and other restaurant supplies.
- Ensure restaurant operations comply with applicable health and safety requirements.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve service-related concerns.
- Participate in the development and implementation of restaurant marketing and promotional activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of restaurant/food service supervisory and management experience, including:
- at least 1 year of experience in a Restaurant Manager or comparable food service management position; and
- at least 2 additional years of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or food service operation.
- Candidates should also have a solid background in the food service industry gained through previous hands-on restaurant or food service experience.
- Demonstrated experience with restaurant operations, staff scheduling, labour and cost control, inventory management, and customer service.
- Experience working in a Cantonese cuisine and/or Dim Sum restaurant is an asset.
- Strong understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations and service standards.
