Position: Tilesetter (NOC 73101)
Location: 6095 Main St., Vancouver, British Columbia, V5W 2T6

Various construction and client sites throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, British Columbia.
Salary: $30.00 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

Education:
No formal education required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a tilesetter or in a related trade. Completion of an apprenticeship program in tilesetting is considered an asset but is not required.
The Tilesetter will perform the following duties:
- Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
- Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using appropriate tools.
- Set tiles in position and apply pressure to affix them securely to the base.
- Align and straighten tiles using levels, squares and straightedges.
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
- Install tile strips and other finishing materials.
- Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs.
- Install and set marble, granite and other natural stone materials as required.
- Install precast terrazzo, tile and similar materials.
- Repair, remove and replace damaged or cracked tiles.
- Ensure completed installations are level, properly aligned and finished according to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow applicable workplace safety procedures.
Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, handling construction materials and working for extended periods in a standing or crouched position.
