NANNY – HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDER (NOC 44100)
Location: SW Edmonton, Alberta
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Full‑time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday

We are a family of six living in Southwest Edmonton. My husband, Michael, is a travelling nurse and is frequently away for work. With four young children aged 10, 5, 3, and 2, including one child with developmental delay and sensory needs, our home is active, busy, and requires consistent structure. We are looking for a reliable, patient, and organized Nanny who can help manage daily childcare routines, support each child’s individual needs, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Daily Routines
- Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and daily routines
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment
Assist with our 3rd child that has special needs
- Follow structured routines and predictable daily activities
- Use calm, sensory‑friendly approaches
- Provide gentle emotional support
- Communicate daily observations to parents
Toddler & Preschooler Care
- Engage in active indoor and outdoor play
- Ensure constant supervision and safety
- Encourage developmental play, creativity, and exploration
School‑Age Support
- Assist children before school: morning routines, breakfast, preparing for school
- Assist children after school: pick‑up, snacks, homework support, supervision
- Coordinate transportation to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Support homework, school projects, and after‑school routines
Household Tasks Related to Children
- Tidy play areas and children’s spaces
- Wash dishes and children’s laundry
- Maintain orderliness in areas used by the children
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of secondary school
- 1 year to less than 2 years of childcare experience
- Experience caring for multiple children
- Familiarity with structured routines and sensory‑friendly approaches
- Strong time‑management and multitasking skills
- Calm, gentle, and adaptable communication style
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Criminal record check
- Valid driver’s license and safe, reliable vehicle for transporting children (This is an asset but NOT a requirement for the position.)
