Hermont Tire Inc. is a British Columbia-based tire and automotive service company offering mobile and in-house tire services, fleet solutions, seasonal tire storage, and complete automotive care. Guided by our brand promise — “Just Drive With Us” — we have recently opened a dedicated commercial vehicle facility in Delta, BC. We are seeking a Bus Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and service buses and other commercial transport vehicles.
Position Details
- Position: Bus Mechanic
- NOC: 72410
- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
- Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
- Wage: CAD $38.40 to $41.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
- Vacancies: 1
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Work Location: 1707 Cliveden Avenue, Delta, BC V3M 6W5
- Work Setting: On site — business/industry; private company
- Work Site Environment: Dusty; noisy
Main Duties
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Inspect motor in operation and road test motor vehicles.
- Test automotive and commercial transport vehicle systems and components.
- Confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace a unit.
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport vehicle and automotive systems.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service.
- Test and adjust units to specifications.
- Estimate parts and labour costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
- Review work orders and discuss work with the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
- Trade certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Commercial Transport Vehicle Mechanic, or Red Seal endorsement, is an asset but not required (trade certification is voluntary in British Columbia).
- Language of Work: English.
