Home Support Worker

 

Located in Vancouver, a family is seeking a compassionate full-time Home Support Worker to provide in-home care and companionship to an elderly individual. The position pays $24.50 per hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a work schedule that may include day, night, and weekend shifts.

The successful candidate will assist with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility, and companionship while helping the individual maintain her dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Requirements

No degree, certificate or diploma required.   Must have experience in elderly care for 7 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience. Non-smoking environment.  Room and board - available.  

English language skills needed. The ability to speak Hindi or Punjabi will be an asset.

Job duties include

• Administer bedside and personal care
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and cook as required
• Feed or assist with feeding
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household cleaning
• Support safe mobility and daily living activities
• Room and board provided - if required
• Urban residential setting
• Permanent position with long-term stability
