Position: Carpenter (NOC 72310)

Vacancies: 1

Location: 50150 Lookout Rd, Chilliwack, BC V4Z 1A5

Various construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland, British Columbia

Salary: $32.00 per hour

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

Start Date: As soon as possible

Language: English

Education:
No formal education required.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a carpenter in construction environments.

Experience working on commercial, multi-family residential, structural, concrete, or large-scale construction projects is considered a strong asset.

Apprenticeship training or equivalent trade experience is considered an asset.

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and site layouts
  • Prepare layouts in accordance with building plans and construction requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood, engineered wood products, and other construction materials
  • Construct and install foundations, floor systems, wall systems, roof systems, and temporary structures
  • Perform structural carpentry work on active construction sites
  • Install and remove concrete forming systems and related construction materials
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, equipment operators, labourers, and other trades
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition

 

Work Environment:

  • Active construction sites
  • Physically demanding

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Fast-paced construction environment
  • Overtime may be required depending on project schedules
