JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate restaurant operations.
  • Oversee daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure efficient coordination between service, kitchen, and management teams.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve operating policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Monitor restaurant performance and identify operational issues, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve productivity, service quality, customer satisfaction, and overall restaurant performance.
  • Ensure that the restaurant maintains consistent standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, service, and customer experience.
  • Monitor restaurant revenues, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Determine staffing requirements based on business volume and operational needs.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, hiring, and training of restaurant employees.
  • Supervise, coach, and support restaurant supervisors, kitchen staff, and front-of-house employees.
  • Oversee orientation and training programs for new and existing employees.
  • Establish staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing for daily operations.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, service standards, and job performance.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Oversee inventory levels for food, beverages, restaurant supplies, cleaning products and other operational materials.
  • Work with the owner and kitchen management to evaluate menu performance and customer preferences.
  • Ensure that restaurant operations comply with applicable food safety, occupational health and safety, employment and municipal requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the restaurant’s competitive position.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • A university degree or college diploma in business administration, hospitality management, food service management, or a related discipline.
  • Graduate-level education in business administration or management is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a restaurant, other food service, or hospitality environment.
  • At least 2 years of management experience in the food service industry (restaurant environment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, customer service, staffing, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, revenues, labour costs, food costs, and other operating expenses.
  • Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating employees.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing multicultural teams and working with diverse customers, employees, and suppliers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine and Vietnamese restaurant service standards is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and ownership.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial information and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable food safety, workplace health and safety, and employment standards requirements.
  • Serving It Right responsible beverage service certification.
  • FOODSAFE certification is preferred.
