National Decking

3330 Caroga Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, L4V 1L4

 

We are currently searching for one Carpenter.

 

Work Location:

Various locations in the GTA

 

Duties:

  • Read blueprints, drawings, sketches and project specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, construction plans and site measurements, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, composite decking, PVC decking, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • Construct, install and repair residential and commercial decks and related outdoor structures.
  • Build and install deck framing systems, including posts, beams, joists, blocking and structural components.
  • Prepare and install deck footings, foundations and support structures
  • Install wood, composite and PVC deck boards using appropriate fastening systems and installation methods.
  • Build and install deck stairs, landings, fascia, skirting, railings and related finishing components.
  • Fit and install stairs, railings, trim, fascia, hardware and other components related to deck construction.
  • Ensure decks are level, properly aligned, structurally secure and finished according to plans and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform repairs, renovations and replacement of existing decks and outdoor wooden structures.
  • Inspect existing deck structures and identify damaged or deteriorated structural components requiring repair or replacement.
  • Operate hand and power tools required for professional carpentry and deck construction.
  • Coordinate work with other crew members and maintain a safe and organized job site.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate professional carpentry experience, with significant hands-on experience in deck construction, installation, repair and renovation.

 

You will be required to train apprentices and labours.

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Position/35-40 hours per week

Should be available to work a variable work schedule

 

Hours of Work:

From Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm

Requirements:

3 years of working experience

Applicants with experience in deck construction are an asset.
