Job Opportunity – Kitchen Helper
Position: Kitchen Helper
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Vacancies: 1
Wage: $18.25 per hour (40 hours per week)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay
Work Location: 352 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC V9L 2P2
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, trim and cut vegetables, fruits and other food ingredients using kitchen equipment.
- Assist cooks and other food service staff with basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
- Portion, assemble, wrap and package food items for dine-in, take-out and delivery orders.
- Wash and sanitize tables, counters, cupboards, appliances, and other kitchen equipment.
- Unpack and store food supplies, ingredients and kitchen products in refrigerators and designated storage areas.
- Remove kitchen garbage and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Sweep, mop and maintain floors and other kitchen areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
Employment Requirements
- No prior work experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods and perform repetitive duties.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and physically demanding kitchen environment.
