Protonify Corporation is seeking two self-motivated and dependable Production Technicians to support the expansion of our processing operations.

The successful candidates will initially work alongside our established day-shift team to receive hands-on training in our equipment, systems, operating procedures, safety requirements and documentation practices. Once fully trained and qualified, they will transition with a supervisor to a new evening shift focused on increasing equipment utilization and overall production capacity.

Because the evening team will operate with less direct support, we are looking for honest, reliable, safety-conscious individuals who take ownership of their work, follow procedures carefully, and communicate problems promptly.

Previous cannabis-industry experience is not required.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and operate assigned workstations on an established processing line.
  • Operate production systems safely, consistently and efficiently.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, production instructions, Good Production Practices and safety requirements.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly report deviations, mechanical concerns or safety issues.
  • Complete production, cleaning, inventory, equipment and shift-handover records accurately.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, tools and production areas.
  • Handle, identify, weigh, transfer and track production materials.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting and authorized maintenance.
  • Help establish effective evening-shift routines, communication and workflow.
  • Support continuous improvement and increased overall productivity.

Candidate profile

  • Honest, reliable and dependable.
  • Self-motivated and able to remain productive with limited supervision.
  • Safety-conscious and committed to following established procedures.
  • Mechanically inclined, with practical problem-solving skills.
  • Careful and accurate with documentation and material tracking.
  • Willing to learn, accept responsibility and contribute to team improvement.
  • Available to train on the day shift before transitioning to evenings.

Complementary skills and certifications

  • Electrical, instrumentation, automation or industrial controls.
  • Mechanical, millwright, pipefitting, plumbing, welding, machining or fabrication.
  • Equipment installation, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Pumps, valves, pneumatics, vacuum systems or process piping.
  • HVAC, refrigeration, utilities or building maintenance.
  • Inventory control, warehousing, shipping, receiving or production planning.
  • Quality systems, sanitation, regulated documentation or continuous improvement.
  • First Aid, forklift, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, hazardous-material packaging, lockout/tagout or other industrial certifications.
  • CTLS experience or a valid Health Canada cannabis security clearance.

Physical demands

  • Communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, colleagues and contractors in English.
  • Use measuring tools, production equipment, computers, telephones and electronic record systems regularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or sit for extended periods during a scheduled shift.
  • Occasionally exert up to 10 kilograms of force, and safely handle production materials and tools.
  • Sufficient hearing and vision, with reasonable accommodation where applicable, to receive instructions, observe equipment conditions, read procedures and respond to alarms or hazards.
  • Work safely in an industrial environment and exit the facility independently in routine and emergency circumstances, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
  • Use the required personal protective equipment, with sufficient manual dexterity for controls, tools, measuring devices and completing records.

Working environment

  • Work is predominantly indoors, across production, processing, laboratory-support, utility and warehousing areas.
  • The role may involve exposure to machinery, noise, temperature variation, dust, odours, chemical solvents, pressurised or vacuum equipment, and other controlled industrial hazards.
  • Protonify provides the personal protective equipment for the task, which may include protective clothing, safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection.
  • The schedule moves to the evening shift once the required training period on days is complete.
