Part-time teacher - Nursing (Fall 2026)
The College is seeking to hire a part-time professor (Clinical Instructor) to teach the following credited course (clinical) within the Nursing program in the Fall 2026.
180-D12-HR Introduction to Nursing
This course introduces students to the foundational principles of nursing, emphasizing personal and professional growth, ethical responsibilities, and the role of the nurse within the Canadian and Quebec health care systems. Students develop a strong understanding of the nursing process and critical thinking skills necessary for identifying and addressing nursing problems. Key nursing procedures, including clinical physical examination, hygiene, vital signs monitoring, feeding, dysphagia management, infection control, and clinical assessment, are explored in depth. Students also learn to assess and mitigate complications related to immobility. Emphasis is placed on the safe and effective application of assessments and interventions to promote patient well-being. Through a combination of theory, hands-on lab practice, and clinical experiences, students integrate knowledge, technical skills, and professional attitudes in real-world health care settings, preparing them for more advanced nursing practice.

DESCRIPTION:
The Heritage College Nursing Program provides a part-time, three-year RN competency-based diploma program. Given that nursing is a practice-based profession, we believe that clinical experience is a vital and integral component of the curriculum, providing students with hands-on opportunities to practice their nursing skills under direct supervision of their clinical instructor. The clinical instructor supports student learning, liaises with assigned nurses in a clinical unit and collaborates with the Faculty Team Leader. The clinical instructor role is an essential and powerful component of nursing education.
