Tasks
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on customer vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Identify vehicle problems using computerized diagnostic equipment and testing devices.
- Plan and perform repair procedures by interpreting work orders, technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and experience.
- Test the functionality of vehicle parts and systems to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Perform routine automotive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, lubrication, and general inspections.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, suspension components, steering parts, sensors, batteries, alternators, starters, and other mechanical and electrical components.
- Perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel systems, ignition systems, and drivetrain components.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, wiring, charging systems, and electronic control components.
- Repair, replace, fabricate, and weld exhaust system components, including mufflers, exhaust pipes, resonators, and catalytic converters.
- Conduct welding and fabrication work required for exhaust system repairs and replacements.
- Test repaired vehicles to ensure proper operation, safety, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Operate and maintain automotive diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, power tools, hoists, and shop machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs performed, and parts replaced.
- Keep the repair shop clean, organized, and safe, and follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Participate in hands-on training, obtain additional certifications as required, and perform other related duties assigned by management.
- Perform duties in varying weather conditions, including working in hot weather during the summer and cold weather during the winter, as required.
