Tomas Pearce Interior Design is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience to join our award-winning team. The Role

As an Architectural Technologist, you’ll support the design and execution of both residential and commercial projects, producing full working drawing packages and coordinating with consultants, trades, and internal teams. You’ll play a key role in the documentation and delivery of technically complex and visually compelling spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and preparation of architectural designs and construction drawings.
  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Develop 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials to support architectural design projects.
  • Prepare contract documents, tender packages, and bidding documentation for construction projects.
  • Review and interpret building codes, zoning requirements, and other applicable regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout various stages of project development.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and project meetings to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and documentation to support the successful completion of architectural projects.
  • Review and monitor construction activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable building standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and other project team members, as required.
  • Collaborate with Principals, Project Managers, and Designers to translate design intent into accurate technical documentation.
  • Lead or support site meetings, manage documentation, and monitor construction progress.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and contribute to the culture of design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in residential and commercial interior design or architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Solid understanding of Ontario Building Code (Parts 3 & 9) and construction detailing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with XREFs and layered CAD files.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for architecture, spatial thinking, and exceptional design documentation.
