Job Description
- Operate tractors and a variety of farm machinery to perform field preparation, cultivation, mowing, spraying, fertilizing, and other blueberry farm operations.
- Prepare fields and assist with planting, cultivating, irrigating, and maintaining blueberry crops throughout the growing season.
- Transport harvested blueberries, farm supplies, equipment, and materials within the farm using tractors and other farm vehicles.
- Operate equipment to assist with pruning support, mulching, weed control, and other orchard maintenance activities.
- Inspect, clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on tractors, implements, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery.
- Identify mechanical issues and promptly report equipment malfunctions or repair requirements to the supervisor.
- Load and unload harvested crops, soil amendments, and farm supplies using appropriate machinery.
- Monitor irrigation systems and assist in maintaining adequate water supply for blueberry crops.
- Maintain farm buildings, equipment storage areas, and work sites in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow all farm safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines while carrying out assigned duties.
- Assist with general farm operations, including harvesting, field maintenance, and other tasks as required.
