Position: Junior Systems Analyst (NOC: 22221)

Employer: Winchester District Memorial Hospital

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)
Wage: $37.00 per hour
Overtime: Overtime is not anticipated. Any overtime worked will be compensated in accordance with the applicable provincial employment standards legislation.

About the Position

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Analyst to provide technical support and systems administration services within a hospital environment. The successful candidate will help maintain the availability, reliability, security, and performance of hospital information systems while supporting end users and participating in ongoing technology improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support for hospital information systems to ensure maximum uptime and service availability.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and update Microsoft Windows operating systems, enterprise software, and related applications.
  • Monitor system performance and implement corrective measures to ensure system reliability, security, accessibility, and data integrity.
  • Respond to user support requests, provide technical assistance, and deliver end-user orientation and training.
  • Document technical incidents, resolutions, system configurations, and support procedures.
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, network services, and Microsoft server environments.
  • Coordinate technical issues and vendor escalations for hardware, software, and third-party systems.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure projects, system upgrades, equipment deployments, and technology implementations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding patient safety, information security, confidentiality, and privacy.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT staff and hospital departments to deliver high-quality technical support.

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of a college program in a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Recent Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Healthcare IT experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting HP/Intel-based server hardware.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery technologies.
  • Experience supporting HP servers and Xerox multifunction devices.
  • Experience with web technologies including HTML and CSS.
