Tasks
- Read and interpret plumbing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to support accurate installation of plumbing systems.
- Assist licensed plumbers with commercial plumbing installations, maintenance, and new construction projects.
- Use a variety of hand tools, heavy-duty power tools, and plumbing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, thread, fit, and install steel, copper, PVC, ABS, cast iron, and PEX piping systems.
- Operate pipe threading machines for steel and black iron pipe installations under supervision.
- Assist with the installation of domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, waste, vent (DWV), storm drainage, and natural gas piping systems.
- Install and connect commercial plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, urinals, faucets, drinking fountains, floor drains, cleanouts, and accessories.
- Assist with the installation and servicing of hydronic heating systems, including radiant panels, wall fin heaters, unit heaters, and associated piping.
- Perform pipe layout, measuring, cutting, soldering, brazing, fitting, and assembly of copper and other piping materials.
- Assist with underground plumbing, rough-ins, sleeves, hangers, and above-ground piping installations on commercial construction sites.
- Support pressure testing, leak testing, and commissioning of newly installed plumbing systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain plumbing materials, tools, and equipment on job sites.
