Education

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • or equivalent experience
  • Must know English 

Experience:  1 year to less than 2 years

On site: There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. General manufacturing

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Repair machines,services tools and parts
  • Set up and adjust production machinery 
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge

  • Mastercam CAD/CAM

Equipment and machinery experience

  • Automated transfer machine
  • Form cutting machines
  • Single purpose production machine
  • Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Robotic equipment and systems

Additional information

Security and safety

  • Basic security clearance

Transportation/travel information

  • Own transportation and a Valid driver's licence

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Ability to work independently, Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail. This is rotating shift work including holidays and weekends shifts.
