A Caregiver is required to provide care for two minor children at Mr. Shi’s private household located in Vaughan, Ontario. He/she will be responsible for ensuring children’s safety, well-being and daily care in a nurturing and supportive home environment. The detailed job description, duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Work Location: Our private household in Vaughan, ON (Teston Rd./Bathurst St.)
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full-time permanent
Wage: $21 per hour
Benefits: Paid vacation days and sick leave
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide constant supervision, ensure the safety and well-being of our two children in your care at all times;
- Light housekeeping tasks to create a safe environment, and implement appropriate safety measures;
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks, including diaper changing, toilet training, dressing, handwashing, bathing, and encourage independence where appropriate;
- Follow a structured daily routine that includes activities such as meals, nap times, playtime, and educational or recreational activities as instructed by the parents;
- Offer comfort, emotional support, and positive reinforcement to foster a sense of security and help children develop social and emotional skills, such as sharing, empathy, and conflict resolution;
- Plan and provide nutritious meals and snacks for children and ensure that meals are age-appropriate and meet nutritional guidelines;
- Plan and implement educational and recreational activities such as painting, reading, outing at the parks etc. that promote children's development and learning;
- Take and accompany the children to and from after-school extracurricular activities and other scheduled activities as required.
- Discipline children according to appropriate methods instructed by the parents;
- Monitor children’s behavior, health, and overall well-being, and communicate any concerns or updates to the parents.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required;
- At least 1 year of childcare experience is required;
- Pass medical check and non-smoking;
- Be able to communicate in English;
- First Aid and CPR certificate is required;
- Experience in taking care of toddler is an asset;
- Possess a valid driver’s licence is an asset;
- Flexibility working in the evenings and weekends occasionally is preferred.
