Electronics Engineering Technician

Unified Automation Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Electronics Engineering Technician to join its team in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will support the installation, testing, calibration, inspection, development, and applied research of electronic equipment, components, prototypes, power equipment, and related systems.

Job Summary

The Electronics Engineering Technician will assist with the installation, testing, calibration, inspection, and development of electronic equipment and systems. The position requires strong technical knowledge, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment while supporting engineering-related testing, data collection, prototype development, and applied research activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing electronic equipment and related systems.
  • Testing power equipment and systems.
  • Assisting in the design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems.
  • Assisting in the inspection, testing, and adjustment of electronic components.
  • Calibrating electronic equipment and instruments.
  • Assisting in building and testing prototypes according to technical specifications.
  • Collecting and compiling operational or experimental data.
  • Carrying out applied research in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics.
  • Supporting technical troubleshooting, testing procedures, and quality control activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of testing, calibration, research data, and technical observations.
  • Working with team members to ensure electronic systems and components meet required specifications and performance standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, engineering technology, applied science, physics, or a related field.
  • Three years to less than five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electronic equipment, power systems, component testing, calibration, prototype development, or applied technical research.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and follow technical specifications, testing procedures, and engineering documentation.
