Position: Body Shop Supervisor (NOC 72020)

Each Body Shop Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of body shop technicians, painters, and detailers engaged in collision repair, paint restoration, dent and scratch removal, frame alignment, and safety system calibration
- Establish efficient workflow methods to meet production targets and delivery timelines, and coordinate shop activities with front-of-house service advisors and insurance partners
- Review and manage repair orders to ensure accuracy of scope, parts requirements, and labour allocation for each vehicle assigned to the body shop
- Requisition parts, materials, and supplies from vendors; verify deliveries and maintain adequate shop inventory to prevent delays
- Oversee the quality of completed body shop repairs by reviewing workmanship against Fix Auto Network standards, insurance carrier repair authorizations, and manufacturer body repair specifications to ensure accurate and complete execution of the approved repair scope prior to vehicle release to the customer.
- Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, technical repair challenges, and customer concerns; implement corrective measures to maintain productivity and quality
- Train, mentor, and guide body shop technicians; identify skills gaps and arrange or coordinate technical training as needed
- Participate in recruitment recommendations, performance reviews, and personnel actions including promotions and disciplinary matters
- Enforce and monitor all occupational health and safety standards within the body shop; ensure compliance with OHSA requirements, proper use of PPE, and safe handling of automotive chemicals and equipment
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports including repair turnaround times, technician productivity metrics, and quality control outcomes
- Liaise with insurance adjusters and claims representatives to support the vehicle repair and approval process
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of apprentices, helpers, and labourers assigned to the body shop as required
Education
- Completion of secondary school (high school diploma or equivalent) is required
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in auto body repair, collision repair, or a closely related automotive trade
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a body shop or automotive repair environment is an asset
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid working knowledge of auto body repair processes including collision repair, panel replacement, frame/unibody alignment, and refinishing/paint
- Familiarity with safety system calibration (ADAS) as it relates to post-collision repairs is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders, manufacturer repair procedures, and insurance estimates
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple repair jobs simultaneously
- Effective leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate a team and resolve conflicts professionally
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and body shop safety practices
- Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required
