Job Description
AV General Contracting is seeking a qualified Landscape and Horticulture Supervisor to oversee and coordinate landscaping and grounds maintenance operations at various residential and commercial sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of landscaping and grounds maintenance workers.
- Establish work schedules and coordinate daily operations.
- Estimate labour, equipment, and material requirements for landscaping projects.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to specifications and deadlines.
- Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Resolve work-related issues and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality of work.
- Order materials, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Assist in hiring, evaluating, and supervising employees.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Oversee landscape construction and maintenance projects, including planting, lawn care, irrigation systems, fences, decks, patios, walkways, retaining walls, and snow removal operations.
- Prepare reports and maintain records related to operations and staff performance.
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of landscape construction, lawn care, planting, and seasonal maintenance operations.
- Ability to estimate labour and material requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to various job sites throughout the GTA.
