Job Duties:
- Transport goods and materials safely to designated locations by operating straight or articulated trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, mileage, and hours of service in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate regularly with dispatch personnel to receive instructions, provide updates, and relay relevant transportation information.
- Inspect the vehicle and its equipment before, during, and after trips, ensuring that tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other components are functioning properly.
- Secure loads using appropriate methods, including tarping and other cargo protection measures, to ensure safe transportation.
- Respond to customer inquiries and address any concerns or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform minor roadside maintenance and emergency repairs when necessary to minimize delays and ensure operational safety.
- Operate as part of a team-driving arrangement or convoy when required to meet transportation schedules and service commitments.
