Responsibilities
Tasks
- Operate and drive trucks/tractor-trailers to transport goods and materials over local and long distances
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage units
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing goods as required to prevent damage or shifting during transit
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all customer service interactions, including during pickups and deliveries
- Monitor vehicle performance and perform minor maintenance tasks such as brake adjustments and fluid checks
- Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with central dispatch to receive delivery instructions, report delays, and update load status
- Complete daily logs and inspection reports accurately and maintain records of cargo, hours of service, and mileage Credentials
