Responsibilities
Tasks
- Maintain accurate financial records and complete bookkeeping for business and individual clients.
- Record daily transactions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts regularly.
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements and bookkeeping reports.
- Process payroll and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions.
- Prepare and file GST/HST, payroll, and other government remittances.
- Review accounting records for discrepancies and resolve financial inconsistencies.
- Assist with audit preparation, tax documentation, and year-end reporting.
- Monitor outstanding payments and manage vendor and client account balances.
- Supervise junior bookkeeping staff and review bookkeeping accuracy.
- Communicate with clients regarding accounting records and financial requirements.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support accounting system improvements.
