 About Us:

Since 2006, we have been delivering sustainable, custom-designed site furnishings—including picnic tables, outdoor benches, and public waste receptacles—to enhance public and commercial spaces across North America, backed by exceptional customer service.

Employment Term: Permanent full-time.

Education and Training Requirements:

  1. Field of Study: Formal training in Industrial Design is highly preferred. Academic backgrounds in Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical drafting discipline are also acceptable when combined with relevant experience.
  2. Education Level: Minimum of a 1-year college certificate or a 2-year college diploma in a relevant field. A university degree is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
  3. Software Proficiency: Proficient use of industrial design and drafting applications is required. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, KeyShot, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Lumion, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is highly desirable. Candidates who meet all other criteria but lack specific software proficiencies may be considered for on-the-job training.

Experience Requirements: (minimum requirement)

A minimum of 2 years of previous, direct work experience in industrial design, technical drafting, or a closely related sector within the manufacturing/furnishings industry.

Location of work: Markham, Ontario

Working Hours: 9:00am to 4:30pm, 7 hours each day (35 hours per week) Monday to Friday, with unpaid 30 minutes lunch

Pay: $38.5 per hour, paid on semi-monthly basis

 Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Drafting: (Approx. 70% of Role)

  1. Translate preliminary concepts, industrial design sketches, and engineering calculations into detailed technical drawings for commercial outdoor and site furnishings.

  2. Construct comprehensive 3D models and digital representations to visualize the structural, functional, and ergonomic aspects of public space products.

  3. Utilize and manage advanced computer-assisted design (CAD) software and manufacturing-focused drafting workstations.

  4. Generate and refine initial design sketches, structural layouts, and customization concepts for client review.

  5. Compile complete documentation packages and produce standardized, production-ready drawing sets (including cutting lists and assembly blueprints) for the factory floor.

  6. Review and validate fabrication drawings to ensure strict conformity with commercial durability standards, safety guidelines, and client specifications.

  7. Author comprehensive technical reports and installation manuals to document product assembly and structural configurations.

  8. Draft technical data sheets and documentation to support commercial project bidding and tender processes.

Industrial Designing (Approx. 30% of Role)

1. Concept Generation: Generate design concepts, analyze product use to optimize user ergonomics, and develop custom options for benches, picnic tables, and waste receptacles using manual sketches and 3D CAD modeling for client approval.

2. Collaboration & Research: Collaborate with clients, project managers, and engineering teams to establish product requirements; conduct research into costs, material properties (coatings/composites), and production methods.

3. Prototyping & Production Support: Construct design prototypes, oversee fabrication of testing models, and consult with engineering and production staff throughout the manufacturing stage to ensure design compliance.
