Misker Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our construction team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on masonry experience and the ability to construct and repair structures using bricks, stone, and concrete blocks. This role involves working on new construction, renovations, and restoration projects while ensuring high‑quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

  • Lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to blueprints and schematics
  • Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to execute project specifications accurately
  • Mix mortar or grout and apply with hand tools or power tools to secure masonry units in place
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed for material handling or site preparation
  • Perform restoration and renovation work on existing structures, ensuring structural integrity and visual appeal
  • Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and caulking guns to complete detailed masonry tasks
  • Cut and shape materials with power tools to fit specific design requirements
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures

Experience

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in bricklaying or masonry work
  • Proven experience in masonry work; familiarity with residential or commercial masonry projects is preferred
  • Skilled in the use of masonry hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Knowledge of masonry renovation and restoration techniques is an asset
  • Experience with masonry finishing work is an advantage
  • Experience interpreting masonry‑related schematics is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety standards is essential

Employment requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is usually required.
  • Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program

or

A combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in bricklaying is usually required to be eligible for trade certification.
