We are looking for a Home Support Worker.

The Home Support Worker will provide care and assistance to a non-verbal intellectual disability in a private household.

 

Location of work:

• Richmond Hill, ON

 

 

Work setting

• Employer's home

 

 

Work Site Environment:

• Non-smoking

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as required
• Supporting structured daily routines and activities that promote stability and well-being
• Assisting with mobility and ensuring safe transfers
• Assisting with range-of-motion (ROM) exercises as directed by healthcare professionals
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Monitoring the safety and well-being of the individual in care
• Supporting communication through assistive or speech devices when required
• Encouraging independence while providing guidance and supervision
• Assisting with behavior management strategies as directed by healthcare professionals
• Performing light housekeeping duties related to caregiving, including meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a
• Clean and safe environment
• Reporting any changes in health, behavior, or overall condition to the family

Requirements 

• Personal support worker certificate is an asset
• Experience providing care for individuals with non-verbal intellectual disability or special needs is an asset
• Ability to follow care instructions provided by the family
• Patience, reliability and good interpersonal skills

 

 

Experience:

• 1 year of work experience

 

 

Education:

• Secondary School Education

 

 

Credentials:

• CPR Certificate

 

Language of work:

• A good command of English is required

Terms of employment:

• Permanent/30 hours per week

 

 

Schedule:
•6-hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Salary:

$23.00 per hour
