Job Overview
MYC Graphics Inc. is seeking a skilled Large Format Print Operator to join our growing team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the efficient operation of large format printers and support the overall production of print and signage materials. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality work on time while meeting specific customers and project requirements in a fast-paced production environment
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation
- Set up and operate large-format printing and finishing equipment including:
- Mimaki solvent printers, Mimaki latex printers, Mimaki UV printers, Mimaki flatbed UV printers, HP Latex printers, Mimaki cutting plotters, and CNC knife cutter / digital cutting table.
- Load and align print media such as vinyl, banner material, mesh, backlit film, wall graphics, and specialty substrates.
- Monitor print runs to ensure consistent color, alignment, print quality, and proper material handling.
File Preparation & RIP Processing
- Prepare and process print files using RIP software.
- Verify print settings including resolution, scaling, nesting, and color profiles.
- Ensure correct media profiles, print modes, and output settings are selected for each job.
Material Handling
- Load and unload media rolls and rigid substrates safely.
- Track and manage print materials used in production.
- Label and organize printed graphics for finishing, packing, or installation.
- Cutting & Finishing
- Perform contour cutting and trimming using Mimaki cutting plotters.
- Operate CNC knife cutter / digital cutting table for precision cutting of printed materials and substrates.
- Prepare printed graphics for lamination, trimming, mounting, and installation.
Quality Control
- Inspect printed graphics for color accuracy, banding, alignment, registration, and defects.
- Perform test prints and make adjustments when required.
- Ensure finished materials meet job specifications and production standards.
- Printer Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance including nozzle checks, printhead cleaning, and monitoring ink levels.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure machines are operating properly.
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Production Coordination
- Work with design and production teams to confirm job specifications and deadlines.
- Follow the production schedule and prioritize jobs as required.
- Ensure printed materials move efficiently through finishing and installation stages.
Safety & Workplace Standards
- Follow shop safety procedures when operating printing and cutting equipment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve printing efficiency, reduce material waste, and optimize workflow.
- Assist in maintaining standardized procedures for recurring print jobs.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Ability to open, manage, and process digital print files
- Experience with RIP software (Onyx Thrive and RasterLink)
- Knowledge of print file setup including bleeds, trim marks, and cut lines
- Experience working with wide-format printers and finishing equipment
- Experience operating Trucut RD software
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (minimum 2 years)
- Minimum 1 year experience working with fuel dispenser graphics and familiarity with different fuel pumps
- Minimum 1 year experience in a production or preflight role
- Comfortable performing routine equipment maintenance
- Vinyl installation or vehicle wrap experience is an asset

Key Requirements
Education: College Diploma
Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in large-format print production
Language: English

Salary: CAD$ 37.00/hour – Full-time permanent position
