Preferred Education
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline
- Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology, Environmental Studies, or Industrial Hygiene considered an asset

Tasks
- Establish and implement policies and procedures
- Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products
- Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
- Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
- Manage training and development strategies
- Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
- Develop and implement project specific health and safety plans
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at the project sites and office and warehouse locations.
- Oversee the preparation of reports
- Respond to employee questions and complaints
- Conduct performance reviews
- Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
Supervision
Preferred:
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer)
- CRSP (or actively working toward designation)
- Valid G Driver’s License with clean abstract
Technical Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong report writing and documentation ability
- Ability to effectively communicate with workers, supervisors, and senior management
- Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Construction Regulations
- Experience conducting Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Field-Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
- WSIB claims management and modified work coordination
- Development and auditing of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
- Experience supporting MOL inspections and compliance orders
- Confined space program implementation
- Fall protection and rescue planning
- Respiratory protection program administration
- Hazardous materials awareness (asbestos, silica, lead)
- Emergency response planning and spill response coordination
- Safety performance tracking and KPI reporting
- Experience with digital safety management systems
