Delsan- AIM is the largest decommissioning and demolition contractor in Canada. With a rapidly growing team of over 350 people, we are always looking for motivated, career-oriented individuals to join the team. With offices in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto, we are looking to add to our team to help further grow our platform.

Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week

Preferred Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology, Environmental Studies, or Industrial Hygiene considered an asset

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Establish and implement policies and procedures
  • Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products
  • Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
  • Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
  • Manage training and development strategies
  • Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
  • Develop and implement project specific health and safety plans
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at the project sites and office and warehouse locations.
  • Oversee the preparation of reports
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury

Supervision

  • 5-10 people

Preferred:

  • NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer)
  • CRSP (or actively working toward designation)
  • Valid G Driver’s License with clean abstract

Technical Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong report writing and documentation ability
  • Ability to effectively communicate with workers, supervisors, and senior management
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Construction Regulations
  • Experience conducting Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Field-Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA)
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
  • WSIB claims management and modified work coordination
  • Development and auditing of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
  • Experience supporting MOL inspections and compliance orders
  • Confined space program implementation
  • Fall protection and rescue planning
  • Respiratory protection program administration
  • Hazardous materials awareness (asbestos, silica, lead)
  • Emergency response planning and spill response coordination
  • Safety performance tracking and KPI reporting
  • Experience with digital safety management systems
