We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at our Laval facility. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the sourcing and purchasing activities required for operational needs. The role strengthens supplier management, negotiation capability, and understanding of manufacturing operations - while applying analytical, supply chain, and quality skills to ensure cost efficient and reliable supplier performance.

What you will do:
Procurement & Purchasing Operations
- Issue, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials, services, and equipment.
- Assess procurement requirements and develop technical or commercial specifications in coordination with engineering and operations.
- Invite tenders, review quotations, and support sourcing decisions through data‑driven analysis.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery conditions, and long‑term agreements with local and international suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier capacity, production flow, tonnage, and process capability to ensure alignment with forecasted demand.
- Support contract preparation, terms validation, and documentation related to purchasing activities.
Supplier Management & Development
- Participate in supplier selection, qualification, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential suppliers to secure competitive cost, improved lead times, and guaranteed supply.
- Monitor supplier KPIs (on‑time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and prepare reports or recommendations.
- Analyze risks in the supply market and contribute to forecasting, scenario planning, and cost‑reduction opportunities.
- Assist in supplier development initiatives, audits, and improvement plans.
Logistics, Delivery Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Collaborate with transport, warehouse, and inventory teams to ensure smooth logistics and delivery schedules.
- Investigate delivery issues, variances, and non‑conformities, ensuring timely corrective action.
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, POs, or materials in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor progress of orders and proactively address potential delays or supply disruptions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand technical changes, capacity impacts, and manufacturing constraints.
- Provide input into cost‑breakdown analysis, sourcing decisions, and tender evaluations when information is not readily available.
- Support internal stakeholders by clarifying procurement requirements, processes, and timelines.

What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Certification in purchasing or supply chain (e.g., PMAC, CPIM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent) is required.
- Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
- Additional training or certification in Software Testing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Systems is an asset.
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, and supply chain operations.
- 3–5 years of experience negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and handling supplier relationships.
- 3–5 years of experience working in fast‑paced production or logistics environments with strict delivery deadlines.
- 3–5 years of experience working with cross‑functional teams (logistics, transport, IT, inventory, finance).
- 3–5 years of experience managing delivery issues, transportation coordination, or operational logistics.
- Manufacturing experience and asset
- Strong experience in purchasing, supplier negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Solid knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations, including transportation coordination and delivery follow‑ups.
- Proven ability to analyze KPIs, investigate variances, and build Excel dashboards.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams (transport, inventory, IT, finance).
- Familiarity with quality processes, including document control and handling non‑conformities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong adaptability, autonomy, and attention to detail.
