Position Title
Title: Director of Brand Strategy and Corporate Risk
Number of positions: 1
Employment Conditions
Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start date: As soon as possible

• Functional spoken French required for local interactions
Compensation
Hourly wage: CAD $52.00 to $56.00 (depending on experience)
Additional compensation:
• Annual performance bonus program based on organizational performance (up to 10% of annual salary)

Key Responsibilities
Director of Brand Strategy and Corporate Risk reports to the General Management and will be responsible for:
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Define and lead the company’s brand strategy and positioning
- Develop long-term brand vision and narrative aligned with corporate strategy
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels and markets
- Oversee brand architecture, identity, and storytelling frameworks
- Guides go-to-market positioning for new products, services, or initiatives
Communications Governance
- Establish brand and communications governance frameworks
- Define approval processes, standards, and policies for public communications
- Ensure messaging aligns with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
- Oversee content quality, tone of voice, and evidence-based communication (critical in health, education, regulated sectors)
Corporate Risk & Reputation Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate reputation and brand-related risks
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Executive teams to manage communication risk
- Lead crisis communication planning and response frameworks
- Monitor public perception, media risk, and stakeholder sentiment
- Ensure brand activities comply with regulatory and organizational policies
Strategy, Performance & Reporting
- Define and track KPIs related to brand performance and reputation risk
- Provide executive-level reporting and strategic insights to leadership
- Use data to inform brand strategy, communications priorities, and risk decisions
- Evaluate impact of campaigns and brand initiatives on trust, adoption, and growth
Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Lead and mentor brand, communications, and creative teams
- Manage external agencies, consultants, and partners
- Ensure alignment between:
- Brand & marketing
- Legal & compliance
- Operations & leadership
- Drive a culture of brand responsibility and risk awareness across the organization
Budget & Resource Oversight
- Own or co-own brand and communications budgets
- Allocate resources strategically to maximize impact while minimizing risk
- Ensure efficient use of creative and marketing resources
Required Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in Arts, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media, Design or Business Administration is required.
- Additional training in risk management, organizational governance, or corporate compliance (significant asset).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate marketing strategy.
- High schedule flexibility, as the selected candidate will need to travel frequently across Canada.
- Demonstrated experience in an international environment or within a multinational firm.
- Proven experience in organizational risk management, compliance, or corporate governance.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex strategic projects.
- Experience in data analysis, executive reporting, and budget management.
- Strong strategic and decision-making analytical skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in structured, compliance-driven environments.
- Ability to work with project management tools and collaborative platforms.
- Rigor, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage confidential files.
