Itoko Sushi offers authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine in South Calgary, AB. Conveniently located and reasonably priced, our restaurant is a popular destination for both dine-in and take-out customers in the southern Calgary community.

We are currently seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy restaurant. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient performance, including food preparation, cash handling, and customer service
  • Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality and efficient food production
  • Supervise staff and schedule shifts to maintain strong performance and high customer satisfaction
  • Maintain the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and food safety, always demonstrating a “guest-first” approach
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a stable supply chain
  • Collaborate with the restaurant owner to develop and implement strategies to improve overall performance
  • Assist the owner with hiring and training staff for the current location and potential new locations
  • Support the owner in preparations for the opening of a new location

Qualifications:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (1-2 year program) is required. A higher degree, or a diploma/degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field, is considered an asset
  • ProServe certification preferred
  • Minimum four (4) years of proven experience in restaurant management role, with strong knowledge of food service and kitchen operations
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, including team management, training and development, and shift scheduling
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience opening or setting up a new restaurant location is an asset
  • Proficiency with POS systems and cash-handling procedures
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
  • Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
