About Bethany Childcare Centre
Bethany Childcare Centre is a well-established childcare program located in the heart of Richmond,
providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and build
meaningful relationships. We believe in supporting the whole child—physically, socially, emotionally,
cognitively, and spiritually—through a warm and engaging learning atmosphere. As our centre
continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our
team.
Responsibilities
The Early Childhood Educator will:
• Assess each child’s developmental needs and contribute to individualized learning and care
plans.
• Plan, develop, and implement child-care programs that support children’s physical, cognitive,
emotional, and social development.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that promotes children’s
well-being and security.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including storytelling, singing, arts and crafts,
dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
• Organize daily routines by preparing snacks and arranging rooms and furniture for meals,
rest periods, and activities.
• Observe children for signs of developmental, learning, or behavioural concerns and
document observations as required.
• Prepare written reports and share relevant information with parents, guardians, early
childhood educators, or supervisors.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss children’s progress, challenges, and strategies for
support.
• Guide and support children in developing appropriate eating, dressing, hygiene, and toileting
habits.
• Establish and reinforce age-appropriate behavioural guidelines to encourage positive social
interactions.
• Maintain daycare equipment, materials, and learning spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety,
and proper use.
Qualifications
• Completion of a two- to four-year Early Childhood Education program or a bachelor’s degree
in Child Development
• A valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• A valid and clear Criminal Record Check
• Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting and working with young
children
Benefits
• Vacation pay: 4%, increasing to 6% after 3 years of employment.
• Extended health & dental plan, including life insurance, AD&D, LTD, and EAP
o Employer pays 80% of premiums; employee pays 20%.
o Eligibility after a 6-month probation period.
• Paid sick leave: 10 days per year.
