We will provide:

  • Salary: $ 23 per hour
  • Paid vacation of 2 Weeks each year or 4% of salary
  • Minimum 30 hours/week throughout your employment period

 

Duties

  • Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes using traditional Indian cooking techniques, following established recipes, portion controls and quality standards
  • Independently operate and maintain specialized Indian restaurant equipment, including commercial tandoori ovens, high-output gas ranges, heavy-duty burners, tava/griddle pans, kadhai and degchi pots, commercial deep fryers, rice cookers, steamers, and industrial spice grinders
  • Prepare and process raw ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, lentils and spices, requiring knowledge of Indian marination, tempering (tadka), slow-cooking and high-heat roasting techniques
  • Prepare curry bases, gravies, spice blends and marinades from scratch, requiring precision in spice ratios, timing and temperature control
  • Monitor cooking processes, adjust heat sources, and ensure food is cooked to proper texture, flavour and safety standards
  • Maintain inventory records, assist with stock rotation, and identify supply requirements for specialized ingredients and spices
  • Ensure full compliance with provincial health regulations, food safety standards, sanitation protocols and HACCP requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment and food storage areas
  • Coordinate tasks with other kitchen staff during peak service hours to ensure timely and efficient food production
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior cooks or kitchen helpers as required
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring kitchen staff.

  • No Education Requirements
  • Work Experience: Minimum three years of work experience as a Cook
  • Ability to legally work in Canada
