As part of our expansion plan, we are currently hiring anOperations Manager to oversee and coordinate the Academy’s administrative operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the efficient day-to-day functioning of the childcare centre as the business continues to grow.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the childcare centre to ensure efficient coordination of office functions, internal processes, and support services across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to administrative staff responsible for scheduling, documentation, enrolment records, payroll coordination, procurement, and human resources support.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Alberta childcare licensing requirements, workplace regulations, privacy standards, and organizational governance practices.
  • Manage financial planning related to administrative operations, including monitoring expenditures, approving purchases, managing vendor contracts, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources and supplies.
  • Review operational performance and prepare internal summaries, compliance documentation, and management reports to support strategic planning and informed decision-making by senior management.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for administrative and support staff, conduct interviews, participate in hiring decisions, and oversee onboarding and ongoing training to maintain service quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with external service providers, regulatory bodies, and vendors to ensure uninterrupted administrative support and adherence to contractual and legal obligations.
  • Support the Director in improving operational efficiency by identifying workflow improvements and implementing administrative systems tailored to a licensed childcare and early learning environment.

 

Employment requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least three years of experience in administrative management, office operations, or business operations, preferably within childcare or education or a service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising administrative or support staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance oversight.
  • Experience in budget administration, expense tracking, vendor management, and procurement of office equipment and operational supplies.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare operational reports, compliance documentation, and management summaries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with staff, management, parents, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proficiency in office management systems and standard business software, including scheduling, record-keeping, and financial tracking tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support the operational needs of a growing early childhood education centre.

Salary

$85,000 per year
