Responsibilities
Tasks
- Inspect vehicle surfaces and review repair orders to determine refinishing requirements.
- Prepare damaged and repaired surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filing, and masking prior to painting.
- Mix and match automotive paints to achieve accurate colour and finish consistency.
- Apply primers, sealers, base coats, and clear coats using spray equipment and paint booths.
- Refinish vehicle panels to restore factory appearance following collision repairs.
- Inspect completed paint work for quality, uniformity, and defects; perform touch-ups as required.
- Maintain and clean spray guns, paint booths, and related equipment.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and shop standards for paint application and curing.
- Comply with workplace safety procedures and proper handling of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Coordinate with body repair technicians and estimators to ensure timely and accurate completion of repairs.
