Tile Setter

Education: High school credentials Required

Experience: 2 years needed

Languages: Speak English, Read English

Major work area: Construction, Repair.

40 hours / week, Full time permanent position

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Residential.

Area of Specialization: General Tile Setting (floors, walls, ceilings, etc.).

Materials Used: Ceramic, mosaic, marble, quarry, slate, stone, terrazzo, granite, vinyl.

Special Skills: Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered, mix, apply and spread adhesive substances, set tiles in and apply pressure to affix them to base, align and straighten tiles, cut and fit tiles around obstacles, install tiles strips, pack grout into joints and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, work at heights.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling.

Essential Skills: Reading text, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, job task planning and organizing, continuous learning.

Job Type: Full-time, open for all; but preference will be given to Canadian candidates, Aboriginal People, and those who are Permanent Residents of Canada.
